We have a small flock of Pilgrim geese. This breed of goose is unique in that males and females are distinguishable from one another at hatching and all the way through adulthood. There are only a few varieties of auto-sexing geese. Pilgrim geese are known to have a good temperament for geese; I wouldn't disturb a nesting pair though. They can lay as many as 30 to 60 eggs her year. If allowed to incubate their own eggs they make excellent parents.
Our geese are kept for mere enjoyment. We love to see them strolling along and think they add a certain stately quality to the property. They are quite good at announcing visitors, whether welcomed or not.
We do offer hatching eggs during their breeding/laying season which for us is about Feb. through April.
